The Truth That We Must Be

In the light of God's love

as some would say his name

is woven the sweet truth

of that which will remain

untouched by time's parade

un-withered by drought's grip

unspoken by our hearts

but sweetly it does drip

divine in its intention

sublime it comes to be

in dreams beyond retention

we are allowed to see

when purity runs true

and open hands ungrip

releasing what is precious

we can begin this trip

free of earthly wonders

beyond the distant shore

we see a light so faint

that our heart inquires more

and if we ask the questions

of how we came to see

we begin to answer

the truth that we must be
