You lead me here and
this pain causes me to pause
astounded in the simplicity of being
no toll other than pain required to breath
but payment is not due as you might think
but rather pain is due to failing to see what was
placed clearly before our eyes in seductive temptation
but we have looked away for a thousand centuries of hurry
and worry and now again we are offered this window to pause in
and behold the glory abounding around you and know yourself well
walk where your dark shadow forbids you to gaze as fear grips you again
for in your fear lies the key that evades you in swirling foaming waves anew
crashing upon the shore where the light has not yet shown time a place to be
and your tight embrace of the teddy bears you know squeeze out the air that
if open would offer a passageway in which could flow the truth of your being
but you hold onto memories in the making as the momentum of your life
cuts a canyon from which you cannot seem to escape to warm shores
though you see the fair maiden awaiting your kiss and know your
prince also stands ready to sweep you away to a new day
you fear to change and face what is looking at you
as the truth recedes again to wait and see
if you will ripen this time and
open your own heart
toward yourself
