Thankful today

for the dawning awareness

that nurtures me

I find myself grateful

for YOU in this moment

as YOU read

that I wrote for YOU before

as YOU behold the words

know that YOU

are the reason they were written

And if that pulses strangely

within your heart, unaware

perhaps even with a scoffing laugh

know that you are as old as time

and beyond its first imagined beating

and that YOU are perfect

even if you choose to change

But if you know

then welcome to this table

where we feast together

in words of praise for all

all the many who are one

taken together we are whole

imagined whole by yourself

you are none alone and lonely

but reflected we stand today

as the brothers of tomorrow's sunsets

and the sisters of yesterday's dawns

gloriously woven together

thankful for everything we are

and everything we ever will be
