An uncertain breeze wove softly
Through the unlit moon's light
In the aftermath of surprise
Where trees flowed into meadows
Folded upon themselves in ripples
And stars outlined your journey
That did not pause in any village
No matter how their view beckoned
You walked on in forgotten footsteps
Remembered now by my own
As like you too I walked past them
Unalone at longing last
Together in moments
Connected in shimmering harmony
By the thread of cocooned love
Ripened enough to be perfect
Like clouds kissing smooth water
Echoing our own heart beatings
Pulsing calmly fast and slow
Revealed just enough to hear
Waving in warming cadence
Equinoxes crossing each other
Meteoric in bold quick passage
Hardly long enough to notice
And yet somehow we did see
The doorways we both held open
So that each other could enter
Our guarded castle walls
Where now we live in sweetness
Whole and assured of this
The love we share
