Were winter longer

surely the light would come

brought into being as ever before

just as long enough it lingered here too

in this glistening shimmer that brought hearts

to the verge of beating and bore them into life

the way we heard in your voice and listened

naturally flowing synchronicity abounding

here in the la la land of timelessness

with nothing to regret but now

where hope springs

and fear dies

in you

who are

this cradled being

held sweetly in our esteem

hopefully like a butterfly and not a captive

so tenderly as not to rub the sacred powder away

leaving that fairy dust resting upon your wings
allowing you to spread it at your calling

 touching the right moment in words

sometimes unspoken but true

always true and meant

meant so well

even when

unheard

misunderstood

or ignored completely

as the sea does ebb and flow

sometimes an eon is required to wear

thin that crusted coating in which we dress

defensively adherent to our denial

until we break open our dam

as only our hands can do

and start to realize

you cannot give

but to yourself

and we can only listen

to our heart's beautiful song

if we are willing to embrace this curse

that is a blessing and begin to stand fearlessly

walking through the mist of that veil in faith

that on the other side lays waiting

the hope of our own heart

longing to know itself

and mistaking you

for the love

we miss

giving

to our self
